Executive Meeting on Developer Testing

Software Improvements is the Canberra based representative for Agitar Software, a vendor of tools to automate and manage developer testing. Jerry Rudisin, the CEO and President of Agitar Software Inc. will be visiting Canberra on Feb 24, and we would like to invite you to participate in an executive level meeting along with a number of other Canberra based organisations. Through meeting with Jerry, we can better equip you to make informed decisions on whether or not your organisation should adopt Developer testing tools, the best timing for adoption, and the best process for adoption.

While it is indeed true that Agitar is a vendor of such tools, the meeting will not be a product pitch. It is more aimed at helping IT executives see whether or not, and if so how, they should go about addressing interest or need in this area. Through the meeting with Jerry we would like to help you answer questions like:

  • Should I be proactively directing staff to investigate Unit/Developer testing?
  • How should I react if I receive a proposal from staff to pursue Unit/Developer testing options?
  • What do I need to know or do, in order to make informed decisions or plans in the area of Unit/Developer testing.

The sorts of things Jerry Rudisin can discuss at a level to enable informed decisions, but not technical detail, are:

  • What does it all mean. What is real, what is not. How to avoid the silver bullet mentality.
  • How to assess organisational maturity in terms of unit testing as this has a major bearing on what value would be realised from investing in tools.
  • How to develop or assess plans in the area of Unit/Developer testing in terms of timeframes for activities and setting expectations and measuring progress.
  • Understanding and planning for less obvious impacts, risks, possible pitfalls etc.
  • Understanding what will be needed to prove that it was a good decision in the longer term and making sure that the right metrics are collected and monitored.
